Niagara to Wisconsin in 3 days

Monday was our last day with Daniel before he returned east and we continued west. Before we parted ways, we took in two more sights at Niagara Falls.

The first was the Whitewater Walk. The rapids we viewed are class 6, and only the very daring attempt them. The water is traveling 22 miles per hour, and the fine for shooting them is $2000 per person (can go as high as $10,000). Ernie got a great video of the rapids which unfortunately we can't post for you.   But here is a still picture, and imagine the roaring of the water and tumbling of the rapids.

After the Whitewater Walk, we enjoyed a ride on the Whirlpool Aerocar, where we could view the whirlpool that is at the bottom of these rapids. 

Say good-bye to Daniel.   We had a wonderful time together!

Around noon, we left Niagara Falls for a ride across Ontario to the border crossing at Port Huron.   A three mile back-up created a 1-1/2 hour border crossing.   During that time, we spent a half hour stop-and-go on a significant incline on the bridge.  Pulling the trailer on this hill burnt the clutch on the bike.  Still ridable, but slipping.

Ended our day at the KOA in Port Huron.   Does Ernie look a little stressed? 

Tuesday, we left Port Huron and drove across Michigan to South Haven.   Enjoyed the beautiful countryside, although Ernie had to baby the clutch.  At the Michigan Maritime Museum, we enjoyed a cruise on a working clipper ship, and Ernie even did some of the work raising the sail!

Ended our day with a sunset swim in lake Michigan.  Sweet!

Wednesday (today) we rode through 4 states, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and into Wisconsin.  Going through Chicago was a pain, but we survived it. 

Crossed our first time zone and gained an hour!   Stopped by Obrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, WI, where we visited a butterfly exhibit and garden.  Spent an hour in the parking lot, where the Lord answered our prayers.   We were able to get an appointment to get a new clutch put in the bike this Friday in Sioux Falls.   The Lord worked it out where we will lose only a half a day.   If all goes as hoped, we will ride late on Friday and be back on schedule.   Please pray for us!
