Where the Buffalo Roam ~ OR ~ Thunder in a Pink Bus!

Yesterday morning we left the Tetons and made our way to Yellowstone Park.  Great weather and lots of beautiful views.  The geysers give you a feeling of being on another planet.  Amazing!

After leaving Yellowstone, we took a leisurely ride up to Townsend, Montana where we are staying in a KOA Kabin.   Within a minute of unloading our gear, our second thunderstorm of this trip arrived.  But this time, we were safely under cover.   We took advantage of a short break in the storm to walk over to the local diner, which happens to be called The Pink Flamingo, and happens to serve its patrons in a refurbished school bus, paineted PINK.   Luanne was a little dubious about the quality of fare to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised with great elk burger and crispy burritos.  We watched the thunder and lightening from the safety of a school bus.   Much better than from under a blue tarp on the side of a freeway!

Tomorrow, off to the east side of Glacier National Park!
